Community Support
Friends of the Shelter exists thanks to the support of the dog-loving community in and around Franklin County. As a small, all-volunteer group, community organizations and individuals frequently help the Shelter dogs directly by hosting fundraising events of their own. We thank these big-hearted individuals who are giving the sick Shelter dogs a new leash on life.
OCLC Take Your Dog to Work Day

On July 1, the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) celebrated Take Your Dog to Work Day in Dublin. 45 employees brought their dogs to work and made donations to Friends of the Shelter. The employees of OCLC donated over $550 to Friends of the Shelter.
Thank you, OCLC employees!

Courtney

Courtney made homemade dog treats and sold them to family and friends for the holidays to raise money for the Shelter dogs. Courtney's mom tells us she became interested in helping animals after reading the Puppy Place books. She made homemade dog treats and sold them to family and friends. She visited the Franklin County Dog Shelter in December to donate her earnings ($75) to Friends of the Shelter and to visit with the Shelter dogs.
Lauren & Dougan

Lauren asked for donations for the Shelter dogs instead of gifts for her 11th birthday. She visited the Shelter in late November and shared homemade dogs treats with Dougan and the other Shelter dogs. She also dropped off her $200 donation for Friends of the Shelter.
Coldwell Banker King Thompson Foundation
On January 26, two representatives from the Coldwell Banker King Thompson Foundation (Keith Jennings, left, and Wendy Sweney, right) and their German Village/Metro Branch office presented a $500 check donation to Friends of the Shelter, represented by Chris Jasinski, Trustee, and Buddy, representing the dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter.
It is with community support, such as this, that Friends of the Shelter is able to fund surgeries, recuperative care and other medical expenses for over 350 dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter each year.
